Quick Healthy Snacks for Work

SHARE ON YUMMLY --> Yum

Finding healthy snacks for work isn't easy.

You're running from meeting to meeting, conducting task after task, and answering question after question. You don't even have time for lunch, so forget about healthy snacking. On the job, your version of quick and healthy snacks are greasy chips and sugary candies from a vending machine--and neither fit the clean eating diet you're trying to continue.

May I recommend to you a few healthy snacks for work?

The choices below are nutritious, portable and virtually mess-free. They're perfect for work, as well as play. Most of all, they taste good.

1. Veggie Corn Chips

Whoever first added vegetables to corn chips is a genius! Our favorite chips are now filled with super foods like kale, chia and beets, but remain flavorful and crunchy. Because they come in snack-able sized bags, they're great as quick healthy snacks for work.

My recommendations are SuperEats Kale and Chia Chips...

...and The Better Chip Beets and Sea Salt Corn Chips.
2. Fruit Chips

If veggie chips are good healthy snacks for work, so are fruit chips. For those of you with a sweet tooth, fruit chips offer the same sweet flavor but with natural sugar.

I fell in love with Seneca Apple Chips. They're sweet, crunchy, all-natural, gluten-free and quite frankly, EXTREMELY addictive.

Get them at Seneca Apple Chips.

My new addiction, though, are Samai plantain chips. Like apple chips, they're naturally sweet, flavorful and crunchy.

3. All Natural Cookies

Cookie-lovers can enjoy healthy snacks for work too. Nowadays, there are many natural, low-calorie desserts at super markets. Try stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, or find "healthy foods" or "natural foods" sections at your local grocery store.

My choice are Hannah Max All Natural Cookies. They are sweet, crispy and won't leave you feeling bloated. If you need a treat during work hours, the Hannah Max All natural Cookies are fantastic healthy snacks for work!

4. Apples Slices (with Cheese or All-Natural Peanut Butter)

Fruits are good snacks for work, because they're easy to carry. The work desk-friendly ones (a.k.a mess-free) are probably bananas and apples.

Apple slices are my favorite because they are sweet, crunchy and easy to dress up.

By dressing up I meant pairing them with with natural cheese slices like Beecher's Handmade Cheese or all natural peanut butter.

7. Baby Carrots

Crunchy and slightly sweet, baby carrots make awesome healthy snack ideas.

8. Pop Chips

In addition to tasting great and fun to eat, pop chips contain zero artificial ingredients and aren't fried or baked. Best part? They have half the fat of regular potato chips, and won't leave your fingers greasy.

I like them, and so do my kids.

9. Pirate Booty's Pop Corn

My kids love these baked rice and corn puffs. They're flavorful with aged white cheddar, and are healthier than Cheetos, due to being free of artificial ingredients and having no trans fat.

Quite honestly, I love them too. They're perfect healthy snacks for work, as well as play.

10. Snap Pea Crisps

Made with baby snap peas and baked to crispy perfection, these lightly salted snacks are crunchy and tasty. Compared to potato chips, they have 50% less fat, and are loaded with fiber and protein. They're also light weight and easy to pack and store, making them perfect healthy snacks for work.

10 Healthy Appetizers for Super Bowl Party

SHARE ON YUMMLY --> Yum

Hosting or attending a Super Bowl party on Sunday?

How fun. Game Day has always been an unspoken holiday in the United States--and another opportunity for friends and family to celebrate. However, Game Day could also ruin your clean eating diet, with junk food and alcohol appearing everywhere, tempting you to splurge on calories and fat.

To continue your weight loss journey with clean eating and still enjoy food at Super Bowl parties, consider trying the easy healthy appetizers below.

They're quick, tasty and crowd-pleasing, but most of all, they're healthy. From creamy dip to crunchy veggies, these clean eating ideas and weight loss foods help you stay on track of a clean eating diet without feeling deprived during the fun-filled American "holiday."

1. Veggies and Hummus Dip

Crunchy veggies in creamy hummus? Yes please!

2. All Natural Corn Chips and Greek Yogurt Guacamole

Have you tried Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole?

It's delicious! Made with nonfat Greek yogurt, this lighter guacamole contains only 30 calories and two grams of fat per serving. Yet it tastes just as good, if not better, than traditional guacamole. I'm in LOVE with it! Hope you give it a try.

Oh my god! They are delicious! They're sprouted tortilla chips, which means the grains are sprouted to increase nutrients and better digestion. The black beans also reduce cholesterol. Plus, and again, they're delicious.

3. Apple Banana and All Natural Peanut Butter Stack

Just stack all-natural peanut butter, Apple slices and banana together, and enjoy!

4. 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Fruit Dip (by Cooking Classy)

What a creative idea by Cooking Classy! This fruit dip is easy-to-do and protein-rich. To make it even cleaner, I recommend using all-natural, freshly-ground peanut butter, raw honey and nonfat plain Greek yogurt. Still, this is a wonderful and creative idea, and here's the original recipe: Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

5. Cucumber and All-Natural Turkey Sandwich Bites

Simple and protein-rich, these bite-sized sandwiches are great for low-carb diet. I eat these often as snack and saw them fitting to be served at Super Bowl parties.

6. Healthy Buffalo Cauliflower Bites (by Gal on a Mission)

Cauliflower fans are in luck because these buffalo-flavored snacks are crunchy, tasteful and nutritious. Rich in vitamin C, folate and fiber, cauliflower is one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables in the world. Due to its thick texture, it can be cooked in various ways, including being used as pizza crust.

This clean eating recipe transformed cauliflower into a classic Super Bowl appetizer, with saucy, finger-licking buffalo spices and creamy dip on the side. I absolutely adore this idea, and hope you like it too.

7. Tuna Salad on Roasted Seaweed

Many consider seaweed as super food because it's abundant in iodine, which keeps thyroids healthy and therefore regulates hormones. Seaweed also reduces inflammation and is rich in antioxidants.

Seaweed, especially roasted seaweed in this clean eating appetizer, is also tasty. It's slightly salty, crunchy and wholesomely delicious. Add tuna salad on top and these make the perfect bite-sized snack.

Interested in the recipe? Find it at Healthy Appetizer - Tuna Salad on Roasted Seaweed.

8. Crunchy Tomato Mozzarella Pesto Stack (recipe from Clean Eating Recipes Blog)

Not sure about you but I feel that pesto makes everything tastier. The combination of crunchy cucumber and soft tomato also works well. Overall, this was a wonderful, delicious appetizer to both serve and enjoy.

9. Paleo and Low Carb Deviled Eggs (by Ripped Recipes)

These low carb treats are made tastier with avocado. Deviled eggs are already crowd-pleasers--and I've a feeling that these avocado-filled deviled eggs will please even more.

10. Natural and Organic Chips and Snacks

Well it's the Super Bowl after all, and you deserve to splurge. But if you splurge, splurge on natural and organic snacks that are non-GMO and contain little preservatives. As long as you're aware, you'll find ample choices like Terra Chips (see below), vacuum-fried vegetable, Nuts and Dried Fruit Mixes and organic chocolate.

Terra Chips are awesome! They are made with real vegetables, are non-GMO and gluten- and preservatives-free. They're crunchy, delightful and great for snacking.

Another awesome idea is mixed nuts and I like Kirkland's Signature Extra Fancy Unsalted Mixed Nuts. The mix includes almonds, peanuts, cashews...basically, all your favorites, and are fun to nibble on and delectable to taste.

Get them at Kirkland Mixed Nuts.

Happy Super Bowl Day!

I know. There's no such thing.

Well, I hope you enjoy the game, the gatherings and the food anyway.

Healthy Snack Recipes for All Weight Loss Plans

The saying "less is more" couldn't be truer for clean eating diet.

In clean eating, healthy snack ideas and recipes use as little ingredients as possible--and all of them are natural and organic. Though the Clean Eating Weight Loss Meal Plan Blog focuses more on weight loss, it also considers healthy lifestyle as priority. Yes, a clean eating diet can help you lose weight--and most likely will--but it's more of a long-term lifestyle change.

No matter what weight loss plans you're on or fitness goals you've set, today's healthy snack recipes can become a part of your better eating.

Incorporating muscle-building protein snacks, heart-friendly cheeses and wholesome grains, these healthy snack ideas are simple, tasty and nutritious. I hope you enjoy them all!

Healthy Snack Recipes for All Weight Loss Plans

1. Cucumber, Hummus and Red Pepper Stack

Made by blending olive oil and garbonzo beans, hummus has a smooth and creamy texture that pairs well with veggies, chips and breads. Because of its rich flavor and abundance in protein and fiber, it's possibly a favorite healthy snack for the clean eating diet. In fact, it's probably a favorite for other weight loss plans and diets as well.

I recommend this snack because it's crunchy, flavorful and presentable--and makes an excellent finger food for party guests!

2. Stuffed Medjool Dates with Soft Cheese and Nuts

If you haven't tried Medjool dates, you're missing out. These fruity treats are plumper and tastier than other types of dates--and are sweet like candy but with natural sugar. Full of carbohydrates that increase energy and fiber that benefits the digestive system, Medjool dates are healthy too.

For this healthy snack recipe, I balanced the dates' sweetness with mild brie. Because both dates and cheese have soft texture, I then added pistachios for a crunchy bite.

If you don't like brie or pistachios, you can try blue cheese, goat cheese or walnuts. I've combined all of them with Medjool in the past--and they all tasted amazing.

3. Gouda and Homemade Cranberry Sauce on Ritz Whole Wheat Cracker

Due to gouda's mild flavor, it's used more as a sandwich condiment than a main ingredient in healthy snack recipes. It's also less popular than other mild cheese--namely swiss. However, gouda's high nutritional value shouldn't be overlooked. According to best-selling health book author and blogger at The Healthy Home Economist, Sarah, gouda cheese is "higher than most liver, grassfed butter, and even pasteurized egg yolks in the critical nutrient vitamin K2."

Vitamin K2 is crucial for preventing aging and bone disease, by the way.

Because of gouda's lack of flavor, for this healthy snack recipe, I topped it with tangy-sweet homemade cranberry sauce. Substituting white sugar with organic brown cane sugar, the sauce was just as sweet but clean. I also used baked whole wheat crackers by Ritz to reduce calories.

The result was a lovely blend of creamy, crunchy and sweet.

4. Smoked Salmon, Goat Cheese and Dry Thyme

I'm a HUGE fan of goat cheese, because goat cheese is gentler on the digestive system. Goat's milk composes of smaller fat globules than cow's milk, and is therefore easier to digest. It's also lower in fat, cholesterol and calories, making it a great cheese for all weight loss plans.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, salmon's always fresh. In fact, the region produces some of the best smoked salmon. Today's healthy snack recipe incorporates smoked salmon from the Pacific Northwest, by stacking each piece with goat cheese and dry thyme.

If you don't mind extra calories and fat, you can use organic cream cheese instead of goat cheese. Regardless, the combination was tasty and flavorful--and I highly recommend it!

5. Baked Zucchini Bite with Garlic, Parmesan and Tomato

This bite-sized snack is loaded with nutrients and flavor. From heart-healthy zucchini to vitamin-rich tomato to anti-flammotory garlic, this is the perfect snack for both body and taste.

Also, the recipe is quick and simple. You can find it here.

Thank you again for visiting the Clean Eating Weight Loss Meal Plan Blog!

Though today's post wasn't a meal plan, I hope it was still helpful for your clean eating diet and weight loss goals.
